I love the look of wind turbines, but for some reason some people don't like the look of them. Our country is really well suited for wind energy because some parts of the Midwest are some of the most windy areas in the world. Hopefully more wind turbines get erected and coal goes by the wayside.

You mention that he will get richer than he already is, but fail to mention that Pickens has significant investments in wind generation and will make tons of money, just like he did with oil. Global warming hype is about the money, period.

One thing that nearly all "Geeks" use that is a significant consumer of energy is web hosting. So, while a glow in the dark bicycle might be cool, if you want to make a real impact on a product you use every day you should take a look at your web host and make sure they are doing their part. For example, the web host I use for my blog, Hostivia, recently made a commitment to start exclusively using Intel's new lower power Xeon CPU's to help reduce their energy use. You can check them out here:

Biodiesel isn't a viable energy source. For the simple reason that vast quantities of land are needed to grow the crop.

This problem is further compounded by the food crisis where the poorer countries are being hit the hardest.

Viable transport solutions include Joe Cell Device, Tesla car, hydrogen, solar power, etc.

Of course, it will be a while before we see such technologies. Perhaps when the oil barons have had their fill.

Regards
